I thought Bieksa had a no movement clause. |

I predict they will take Tage Thompson (C) and Boris Katchouk (LW) with the 24th & 30th picks. |

If Bieksa can't be moved sometime this season, the Ducks will have to buy him out next offseason. They can't afford to waste a protection slot on him. |

Pretty sure that kicks in on July 1st. If the Ducks are going to move him, now is the time. |

If that's true, they have to move him before July 1. Otherwise they end up protecting him instead of one of the young stud defensemen next year. |

Bieksa has a NTC through the end of the month. NMC kicks in July 1. Under the right circumstances, he may agree to a trade. |

Max Jones 52 points and 106 penalty minutes in his first season with London in the OHL, sounds like a young Perry in the making. |

IF Murray can find a way to trade Bieksa, he would not need to trade Fowler. Its a hard sell tho. I think Bieksa is viewed as an important part of the leadership on this team, especially for the defense. I wouldn't be upset of Despres was traded tho. Also, I might be the only one, but I would prefer they hang on to Stoner thru the end of his contract, just until Larsson, Montour and Pettersson are ready. |

You're not the only one. Hold Stoner, trade Despres. But I'd get rid of Bieksa if at all possible because I don't want to protect him over Theodore or Manson next year (assuming we protect Hampus and Sami). |

Ducks had a successful draft. Good on Bob to pull the trigger on Andersen, and pick up the 30th overall. Max Jones seems like a winner, and will benefit from being around Perry and company. Sam looks good too. The work starts now.
It's nice having the Gulls down the freeway. This franchise continues to grow!
I want to touch on the expansion draft and defense a bit. With more information available, it seems as if a NMC contract player can opt out of being protected. I bet Bob has already has a preliminary sit down, and maybe exchanged an email or two with Kevin Bieksa regarding the semantics of his NMC, the expansion draft and the Ducks future. Mr. Bieksa is a good guy, and he will play ball with management. Moreover, I know he'll finish his contract with the Ducks, and hopefully obtain a Stanley Cup or two in the process. The league had to put that clause in the expansion draft for NHLPA relations.
Of the 6 defensemen who could be ready drafted the locks are Vatanen and Lindholm for me. Maybe Manson or Despres has a monster year and they get protected over Fowler. We'll see.
Stoner is a question mark for me. Will he be bought out? Training camp is looking like Bieksa, Lindholm, Vatanen, Fowler, Despres, Manson, Stoner, Theodore. That's 8 guys for 6 spots. After 2014-2015, I think Bob prefers to be deep on the blue line, so maybe Stoner stays. Perhaps Carlyle wants to have all options on the table. Stoner is an effective player, but got lost in Anaheim's depth. Nevertheless, stingy Murray doesn't want to be throwing away anymore draft picks on Eric Brewers, so maybe Stoner will be the number 7 guy.
For FA I am thinking we'll see Perron stay and an upgrade for the fourth line center. Maybe they'll bring Shawn Horcoff back? So yeah, a left wing and depth center is what I'm thinking. |

That's the biggest reason i think Stoner will stay. Colby Robak played 5 games for the Ducks in 14-15. Perhaps some fans have forgotten, but I guarantee Bob Murray has not.
